Leadership Skills

Just as a grain of sand itches an oyster to produce a pearl, a leader subtly transforms his/her team to scale newer heights. Different activities of the School have leadership opportunities engrained in them. More and more children are gaining confidence by participating in a variety of activities that the School offers, rather than being passive onlookers. Our alumni will prove to be bread givers than bread earners in future.

Model United Nations

The school organized a three day Model United Nations Conference (MUN) in the School in August 19. The United Nations committee that was discussed was UN Women. The agenda before the delegates was Generation equality and realizing women’s rights and an equal future. Students of lass 6 to 8 were involved in brainstorming this issue on these days for over an hour at two venues; the School Auditorium and AV Room. There was an overwhelming response from the students whose numbers crossed 100.

Great start in ways more than one. The committee at both venues was being chaired by students and not teachers. Children were doing research work. They were becoming aware of the world. Their level was raised from being students to diplomats of different countries. Students-even the shy ones- were eager to speak and were expressing themselves using an International Language-English..

Concluding remarks were made by the guest of honour, Mrs.Geetanjali Verma.

Next to come was the MUN conference at Welspun Vidya Mandir in the month of April .Only 13 students participated and two awards were won.

But this small step by handful students became a great leap in the Delhi Public School MUN the same year in July. 46 students participated and 12 awards were won.

The confidence of the students and teachers alike grew from strength to strengthen and MUN became an integral component of the Global Citizenship Programme. An MUN conference of over 100 students was held in the Assembly area of the school in full public view. The committee that was represented was United Nations Development Programme. The Agenda was Sustainable Development. Flex banners of all the 17 goals of UNDP created a vibrant atmosphere. The high standards of the debate convinced the parents that we have raised the bar many notches up.
